Cameron Hartley

Designer

Growing up on the edge of The Peak District and spending much of his childhood on his grandfather’s farm, Cameron developed an early appreciation for landscape and a passion for the design and management of the land and outdoor spaces.

Graduating with a first-class degree from The University of Edinburgh in 2024, he received both The ESALA Landscape Architecture Dissertation Prize and The ESALA MA Landscape Architecture Prize, awarded to the top performing students. His graduating project, Reforming Rural Margins, explored ways to work with natural processes to strengthen rural landscapes against the backdrop of an increasingly turbulent climate.

Throughout his studies and since graduating, Cameron has gained experience in studios across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sheffield, contributing to projects in master planning, public realm and education sectors. Cameron joined MBS to finesse his ambition to work in the design of gardens, estates and boutique hotels with design, material selection and attention to detail being of paramount importance to homeowner, hotel guest and client.
